Combining name and context matching for semantic integration

چکیده
Interoperability is a key issue for information system nowadays. The need for integration of different sources of data is needed when working in a distributed environment as well as when thinking of use data captured in the web. In both cases data may come with heterogeneities in many aspects, and thus the integration is mandatory to allow the correct use of data. A first step in this sence is integrate the schemas used to describe the data, which can be ontologies, conceptual schemas, XML-schemas, etc. In this paper we present the a methodoloy to integrate schemas considering string distance metrics for name matching and also an ontology approach for context matching in a semi-automatic way. The methodology is based on an algorithm which consider different approaches depending on the schemas to be integrated.

An Improved Semantic Schema Matching Approach
Schema matching is a critical step in many applications, such as data warehouse loading, Online Analytical Process (OLAP), Data mining, semantic web [2] and schema integration. This task is defined for finding the semantic correspondences between elements of two schemas. Recently, schema matching has found considerable interest in both research and practice. In this paper, we present a new impr...
متن کاملCentralized Clustering Method To Increase Accuracy In Ontology Matching Systems
Ontology is the main infrastructure of the Semantic Web which provides facilities for integration, searching and sharing of information on the web. Development of ontologies as the basis of semantic web and their heterogeneities have led to the existence of ontology matching. By emerging large-scale ontologies in real domain, the ontology matching systems faced with some problem like memory con...
متن کاملInformation Integration with Warp 10
Warp 10 is a novel approach to B2B-integration combining concepts from semantic data modeling, Natural Language Processing and Schema Matching to define a consolidated data model termed canonical model. The canonical model is built up semi-automatically and grows in size and complexity upon matching with schemas provided by a business community. The business context of a matching task allows fo...
متن کاملSchema Matching and Schema Merging based on Uncertain Semantic Mappings
This dissertation lies in the research area of schema integration: the problem of combining the data of different data sources by creating a unified representation of these data. Two core issues in schema integration are schema matching, i.e. the identification of correspondences, or mappings, between input schema objects, and schema merging, i.e. the creation of a unified schema based on the i...
متن کاملAdaptive Information Analysis in Higher Education Institutes
Information integration plays an important role in academic environments since it provides a comprehensive view of education data and enables mangers to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of education processes. However, the problem in the traditional information integration is the lack of personalization due to weak information resource or unavailability of analysis functionality. In this ...
